Robert H. Brown
Robert H. Brown, MD DPhil, is Professor and Chair of Neurology at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and Medical School. Throughout his career, Dr. Brown has exhibited exceptional commitment to curing neuromuscular disease which he leverages in his role as the Society’s Board Member Emeritus and Scientific Advisory Board member.
In 1984, Dr. Brown founded the Day Neuromuscular Research Laboratory to investigate neuromuscular diseases which has developed resources that enable the study of therapeutic strategies for neuromuscular diseases. He has received honors for his work by the Institute of Medicine and the American Neurological Association.
Dr. Brown graduated from Harvard Medical School and completed his doctoral training in neurophysiology at Oxford University. Dr. Brown trained in neurology at the Massachusetts General Hospital.
Dr. Brown is also currently serving as the Director of the Day Neuromuscular Research Laboratory at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
