We hope that all of our chapter members can join us for an informal, in-person, outdoor gathering on Saturday, August 28, from Noon to 3PM at Stanford. This gathering will have two purposes. One is to socialize in-person with each other with some refreshments for a little while. The second is to allow anyone who wishes to participate in an FSHD research study Stanford is engaged in regarding the impact of exercise for people with FSHD. This is a non-invasive, brief study that takes 20 to 30 minutes and will involve riding a high-tech stationary bike while wearing a mask that measures oxygenation, as well as several other wearable sensors. Actual time on the bike will be 10 to 15 minutes.
Participation in the study is completely voluntary. We are planning to participate in the study and are excited to see what we will learn. We hope you will consider joining us for some fun time together in person. There will be plenty of open space for distancing and masks are appropriate for those who want to wear them. It will be great if you can RSVP for either/both events for our planning purposes, but if it is last minute for you, that’s totally okay, too. More details about each event will follow.
We hope to see you there!
