Join us for the first-ever FSHD Family Day Conference to grace the shores of Lake Michigan. Join family, friends, and fellow travelers living with FSH muscular dystrophy for a wonderful half day of learning and connecting. You’ll meet the region’s leading doctors and specialists, such as Drs. Charulatha Nagar and Don McGovern, to learn about best practices in managing symptoms, genetic testing, family planning, orthotics and braces, etc.
BREAKING NEWS: Lindsay Wallace, PhD, from the well-know laboratory of Scott Harper at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, will be speaking about exciting advances in gene therapy for FSHD. Alejandro Rojas, PhD, principal scientist from Fulcrum Therapeutics, will describe the research that led to the development of ReDUX4 (losmapimod), which is currently in a phase 2b clinical trial for FSHD.
Our setting will also be extraordinary. While we know many of you may rather get a root canal than drive into central Chicago, we feel the trip is worth it for the opportunity to tour the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, recognized as the #1 rehabilitation hospital in the nation. It is described as the first-ever “translational” research lab where multi-talented teams collaborate to develop solutions to challenges in physical medicine and rehabilitation. This is an opportunity to make some of these researchers aware of the unique issues facing individuals with FSHD. And to top things off, the building is a marvel of architectural and interior design, which makes for an enjoyable experience to make up for the ordeal of getting there.
All-day parking is available in the AbilityLab’s attached garage for $15 with a voucher, which you can pick up at the conference registration desk
Register now to secure your spot. Deadline is extended to October 15, 2019.
