Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO)
The Ontario Chapter of the FSHD Society invites you to a very special “field trip” event!
We are very lucky to be invited to tour the lab of Dr. Hanns Lochmuller at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) Research Institute in Ottawa on Saturday, June 11th.
For those of you who do not know Dr. Lochmuller, he is a neurologist and clinical academic specializing in genetic neuromuscular disorders and rare disease. He sees FSHD patients, and has conducted clinical trials for FSHD. His clinic is currently in the process of becoming part of the international Clinical Trial Research Network for FSHD, and will participate in upcoming FSHD trials. Mark Stone from the FSHD Society will also be present to answer questions about all of our initiatives to accelerate therapy development for FSHD.
We will gather at CHEO on Saturday June 11th at 12:30pm, followed by a tour. Then we’ll make our way over to the CHEO Hospital for Q&A, and discussion. It is an approximate 10-15 minute walk from the lab. The lab is wheelchair accessible, and has accessible washrooms.
Attendance is limited to 15 attendees, and will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
We will collect a waiting list once we receive 15 RSVPs. You must RSVP by June 6th to attend. Further details will be provided to the first 15 registrants after your RSVP is received.
We are also planning a group dinner for afterwards, details to follow. Please let us know if you are able to join us for dinner on your RSVP. Please note COVID-19 protocol at CHEO: Visitors must be fully vaccinated, and will need to answer a screening questionnaire upon arrival. Visitors will be required to wear a mask for the duration of their visit.
We hope you can join us!
Again, please RSVP by June 6th.
