En souvenir de Dan Perez, cofondateur de la FSHD Society et moteur de la recherche et de la défense de la FSHD.
Long-time FSHD Society champion, actor Max Adler, shared some exciting news with us that he has joined the cast of a new film now being shot that centers on a character who has FSH muscular dystrophy. What’s more, the film was written by its star, Danny Kurtzman, the multitalented and irrepressible 3o-something whom we interviewed a few years ago about his successful apparel company.
How did this amazing pairing come about? Max shared over his Instagram account how he ended up serendipitously in the new film, Good Bad Things, when he asked his friend Brett Dier (Michael Cordero, Jr, in Jane the Virgin) about appearing in one of Max’s projects. “He said he would love to,” Max recounted, “but his schedule wouldn’t allow it as he is filming this beautiful, special, heartwarming, touching film about a journey of self discovery, self acceptance, and finding love for the lead @heavydk – A brilliant actor who just so happens to have muscular dystrophy.” Max shared how his own grandmother and mother had been affected by FSHD, and next thing he knew, he found himself in a supporting role in the film.
“Danny is a phenomenal, sharp, talented as hell human being and I’m honored to now know him and work with him,” enthuses Max. “Can’t thank the phenomenally talented writer/Director @shanestanger [enough] for giving me the opportunity to join forces and can’t wait to work with the @fshdsociety to raise awareness when Press time comes!”
We’re all in!
