Presenter: Kathy Senecal, FSHD patient and Registered Yoga Therapist with specialty training in Yoga for Disabled Folks
This yoga class is designed specifically for folks with FSHD. You will explore creative and original ways to build your practice – yoga is meant for every body. Over the course of 4 sessions, subtle, adaptive practices will be taught that don’t rely on physical strength or flexibility. Accessible poses will be designed for the person, not the person to the pose. All are welcome. If you have ever wanted to enjoy the physical and mental benefits of this ancient practice, please join us.
For people living with FSHD who are interested in exercise and fitness, we meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month at 12:00 pm (noon) U.S. Eastern Time. Come dressed for exercise and have on hand any safety and assistive devices you need. Not every exercise is appropriate or safe for every individual, so please use your best judgement and consult your health care provider.
Please come prepared with a stable chair or stool (back of chair is optional).
